Students drop bikes in the road



The Manteca Police Department received 781 calls between Nov. 1 and Wednesday, Nov. 7. The following is a sample of those calls:

Tuesday, Nov. 6

11:37 a.m.: A woman called to say that a teacher grabbed her 7-year-old son while disciplining him at Manteca Christian School, 486 Button Ave.

Monday, Nov. 5

6:35 p.m.: A woman reported a fight between 15 people who had bats and sticks on the 700 block of Pestana Avenue.

2:36 p.m.: Someone called to say that eight high school students dropped their bikes in the middle of the road on the 400 block of Edward Street.

Sunday, Nov. 4

8:36 p.m.: A woman reported that her father grabbed her and choked her on the 200 block of Almond Way.

6:42 p.m.: A man told police that a 10-year-old girl was hit in the head with a metal broom by a 9-year-old boy on the 400 block of Greenbrier Avenue.

7:02 a.m.: A woman reported that her 17-year-old daughter and her 28-year-old boyfriend took money from her bank account on the 700 block of Yosemite Avenue.

1:00 a.m.: A man called to say that two men were holding another man while someone hit him with a rope on the 500 block of West Yosemite Avenue.

Saturday, Nov. 3

11:18 p.m.: A man reported that someone had threatened his 17-year-old son with a gun at the corner of Marion Street and El Portal Avenue.

2:03 a.m.: Someone called to say that a person got hit by a car while chasing a shoplifter on the 100 block of Spreckles Avenue.

1:30 a.m.: A man fell off his bike on the 100 block of West Yosemite Avenue, a woman reported.


Manteca police received 712 calls between Oct. 27 and Wednesday, Oct. 31. The following is a sample of those calls:

Monday, Oct. 29

5:11 p.m.: A man called to say that someone attacked him with a machete in his car at the corner of Northgate Drive and North Main Street.

5:43 p.m.: A woman on the 400 block of Golf Circle East reported that a man called her cell phone and threatened to kill her.

Sunday, Oct. 28

10:26 p.m.: A woman reported two people having sex in a vehicle at the corner of Kenny Avenue and Avo Way.

8:59 p.m.: A man in southwest Manteca told police that his ex-wife wants to kill herself.

12:14 p.m.: A man reported that a woman who had tried to hang herself was sleeping on the couch in northwest Manteca.

6:24 a.m.: A woman called and said three teenagers were unscrewing sprinklers heads on the 1200 block of Laurel Park Court.

Saturday, Oct. 27

9:06 p.m.: A woman reported a man sitting in the roadway near the corner of West Lathrop Road and London Avenue.

8:20 p.m.: A man reported that his son was threatened with a knife on his way home from school at the corner of North Powers Avenue and Pine Street.

Friday, Oct. 19

12:34 p.m.: A woman reported that a man was walking around a gas station wearing only a towel on the 1300 block of Yosemite Avenue.
11:51 p.m.: A woman reported that her neighbor’s chickens were in her backyard again on the 400 block of Stockton Street.

Saturday, Oct. 20

9:52 a.m.: A person called and said that some women were hitting a black Mustang with a hammer on the 200 block of Norwood Avenue.
10:43 a.m.: Someone called to report that two boys and a girl were playing in the roadway on the 200 block of South Union Road.
9:14 p.m.: A woman called and said that two people were urinating next to her house on the 500 block of North Grant Avenue.

Sunday, Oct. 21

8:17 p.m.: Someone called to report that a kid was lying down on the sidewalk dressed in a gorilla suit on the 700 block of Tahoe Street.

Monday, Oct. 22

11:39 a.m.: A woman called to report that a neighbor drove by and flipped her the middle finger while she was in the front yard with her dog on the 500 block of Silverado Street.

Tuesday, Oct 23

9:49 a.m.: A woman called to say that her neighbor’s dog had chewed up her water cooler on the 200 block of Northwood Avenue.

Wednesday, Oct. 24

3:46 p.m.: A woman called to report that some children had handcuffed their ankles together and lost the key on the 200 block of Lancaster Drive.

8:50 p.m.: A woman called to say that two women were in an argument and one of them squirted the other with water on the 400 block of Willow Avenue.

2:59 a.m.: A man called that his ex came at him with a knife on the 100 block of Sequoia Street.

11:58 a.m.: A person called to say that a woman was walking back and forth behaving erratically while carrying a blanket on the 100 block of Yosemite Avenue.

6:17 p.m.: A person called to say that a man pulled a gun on the 1000 block of Yosemite Avenue.

8:38 p.m.: A man called to say that someone was mowing his lawn on the 100 block of Almond Avenue.

Sunday, Oct. 14

10:05 a.m.: A woman called to say that a cup of urine was thrown onto her windshield on the 1000 block of Garden Gate Drive.

12:19 p.m.: A woman called to say that a 3-foot-long snake was in her backyard on the 1900 block of Castillo Way.

12:29 p.m.: A man called to say that a person was playing football in front of his car at the corner of North Main Street and East Alameda Street.
