Major Orioles win battle of unbeatens

    The Spreckles Park Little League Major Division Orioles and White Sox faced off Saturday, April 12 at Brock Elliot School in the showdown of the only undefeated teams in the league, with the Orioles coming out on top, 7-3.
    Jason Manuta pitched four innings with two runs allowed on four hits and nine strikeouts. Alex Jorgensen followed with two innings and K’d three for the save.
    Nick VanWarmerdam started the Orioles with a lead-off triple, and scored on a passed ball. Justin Canady, George Uriate, and Jorgensen all collected hits, while Ryan Bergman added another triple.
    Hunter Johnson managed two RBI’s with a double in the fourth for the White Sox. Bryson Sanders, Kyle Alexander, Jacob Gallegher, and Michael LeLaurin contributed hits.

Orioles 15, Angels 1
     The Orioles dominated the Angels from the start by scoring eight runs in the first. Jonathan Barry pitched two and a third innings without a hit for the Angels with Michale Garibay finished off the Angels in the shortened game.
    Barry shined on both sides of the diamond, and managed three hits at the plate. Ryan Bergman and Jacob Vaughn each flashed a double while going two for two. William Thompson (single) managed the lone RBI for the Angels.

Minor Giants 7, Diamondbacks 1
Diamondbacks pitcher Christian Stoley threw a good game but was unable to hold back the tide of bats against him on Thursday.
    Kody Justis, Mathew Snell, Justin Killian, and Stephen Halleck pitched for a two-hit, thirteen-strikeout performance.
    Killian and Justis led the offensive charge with a triple and a single each. Halleck contributed a double and a single while Hillman managed two singles. Mark Vicente added a single.
    Dylan Heath and Christian Stoley had the Diamondbacks hits

Dodgers 10, Padres 9
    The high scoring game was called after four and a half innings due to darkness.
    Joseph Valenzuela and Nick Oseguera pitched in the win. Oseguera and Storm Anderson were 1-for-2 at the plate.
    Jarett Penner led the Padres, batting 1-for-3 with two RBI’s while Austin Perriera was 1-for-1.

Mets 11, Padres 3
    The Padres jumped out early in the third with a three score lead, but the Mets’ offense woke up to take the victory.
    The Met’s Colton Tarp got the ball working with a RBI single in the bottom of the third. In the fourth, the team exploded with five runs, Carlos Perez, Scott Teicheira, Jared Fleming, and Ladondi Ceasar all knocking in scores.
    Anthony Arredondo hit in a run and managed a double while Michael Huckaby belted a two-run single. The Mets added five more runs to win the game.

Giants 12, Dodgers 1
    Stephen Halleck and Justin Killian combined for 15 strikeouts and allowed only two hits. Dodger pitcher, Ryan Tschetter, threw two scoreless innings but could not hold back the hot bats of the Giants.
    Kody Justis led the Giants with a double and a triple. Killian and Steve Rios added a double and single each. Tyler Hillman and Zakary DeRosett contributed two hits while Mark Vicente and Mathew Snell managed singles. Adrian Sauceda added a double.
    The Dodgers’ Nick Osegura had both hits.
